I'll be brief. You and your colleagues are proposing to destroy one-sixth of this country's already weakened economy in the name of health care reform. In the rush to pass these so-called reforms, it is apparent that the Congress will, once again, not have the time or even the desire to read the legislation.

This country does not have the money to pay for these reforms so you further propose to tax into oblivion the very individuals that drive this economy and provide my employment. The unintended consequences of your haste and ignorance will wreak havoc upon our economy, my employer and my family. I will not even pretend to know what motivates this Congress but I do know it has nothing to do with health care.

Why is there no time for debate? Some in Congress have said that reforms must happen before the campaign season begins for the 2010 election cycle. Do you think I will forget this treachery so quickly? Your spending has already destroyed my children’s chance for a decent future. Now you want to destroy their childhood as well? I can guarantee you this: When you threaten and endanger my family, there is no power on earth that will make me forget- EVER.

Try thinking of the American people and quit listening to President Obama.  He is no longer a legislator. Unless there is a true national debate to address the areas of our health care system that actually need reform, you are to OPPOSE passage of this legislation. I expect you to take whatever action necessary to stop this madness.

I can add that I belong to a non-partisan citizen political action committee that is already over 800,000 members strong, many of whom are also your constituents. These members share the same views I’ve stated here and they all struggle to have their voices heard on this issue. Groups like ours may not be as influential as unions and lobbyists - yet, but it's our votes that will determine your political career. We simply ask that you heed our voice.
