For months, there has been a growing trend at the MSNBC network to practice extraordinarily biased reporting against anyone with views that the network interprets as being politically or fiscally conservative, regardless of the accuracy of such judgments. Specifically, MSNBC irresponsibly profiles and then portrays such viewers as being uneducated and unintelligent. Many ordinary American citizens - your consumers - have even witnessed several of the station's reporters resorting to the use of harassment and derogatory language in their attempt to dismiss and discredit the views of anyone other than their own. Recent examples of this include extremely irresponsible and reckless interviewing and commentary from reporters such as Keith Olbermann, Ed Schulz, and an obscene sexual joke from Rachel Maddow with respect to grass-roots organizers of April 15th Tea Parties. Like many other outraged Americans, I found this behavior to be appalling, disgusting, offensive and insulting - an image with which I'm sure your company would prefer not to be associated.
It would seem that rather than simply reporting public opinion, MSNBC is trying to shape it, which is a shameful abuse of the public's trust. Apparently, MSNBC has decided to become a very divisive and polarizing media outlet. With the exception of a select few, the overwhelming majority of the network's "journalists" have continued to alienate independent viewers like me. While I may have supported your products and services in the past, I cannot in good conscience continue to do so, knowing that it is the paid sponsorships from companies such as yours that enable this network to behave so irresponsibly. Until MSNBC refrains from insulting the intelligence of the average American citizen and television viewer with such blatent and openly hostile bias, I regret to inform you that I will not be using your products and services. Further, I will no longer continue to watch MSNBC.
The internet with email, social networking, blogs, and websites is a very powerful tool. I intend to use these resources to encourage as many friends and colleagues as possible to make this same choice about your company. This will undoubtedly result in less advertising traffic to your products and services. Hopefully, your company will find it appropriate to look into this matter and will seriously consider pulling some or all of its sponsorship funding from this network.
