To the Honorable Barack Obama,
I have watched your Presidency closely since your inauguration. I truly hoped your administration would inspire America with powerful, straightforward and transparent leadership as promised. Sadly, this has not been the case.
Your rhetoric is anything but straightforward. There is no promised transparency in your administration. You and the Congress do not even read the legislation that you so quickly sign into law.
You have apologized for America on multiple occasions. This is NOT powerful leadership. This is only a conciliatory expression that denotes international weakness and Sir; it is an insult to America.
Do not apologize on my behalf, Sir. As a country, we have overcome much and accomplished what no other country has ever achieved! I am proud to be an American and for that, I apologize to no man! National honor is not arrogance! National pride is not divisive! Your stated definition for American pride is only partially accurate. It can be defined as arrogance but it is also defined as "self-respect, dignity, self-esteem and honor". Your own derision of America, as spoken on the world stage, is now obvious.
Sir, as my President, you have dishonored and humiliated me. Your actions and statements during the G20 conferences and throughout Europe have brought disgrace to America, my family and the millions of military men and women who serve and have served - many of whom made the ultimate sacrifice for this country.
I do admire your articulacy. But your own actions at home and abroad can no longer hide behind your mask of eloquency. Your odious views of our American heritage; your disregard for private, lawful contracts; your policies of punitive taxation and intrusive government; your appalling spending and taxation policies; are all actions that speak far more clearly than your rhetoric.
I would respectfully remind you Sir, America is a Constitutional Republic - not a democracy. "We the people" are governed by the rule of law and NOT majority opinion. We are governed by our own Constitution and NOT your political ideology or some international consensus of opinion. We are certainly capable of agreement with certain national or world views - but NOT at the sacrifice of our liberty, freedoms or national sovereignty in any way, shape or form.
I would also remind you Sir; the Presidential oath of office does not include the words "hope" OR "change". It does state "... and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States". I must INSIST that you honor your oath.
I cannot, as an proud American, support your vision for America.
With respect for the Office of the Presidency,
